Sustainable Forest Futures The objective of Sustainable Forest Futures (SFF) is to help
promote an effective sustainable forestry and sustainable forest
products economic sector in the Northern Forest region. SFF
is intended to address all aspects of the “value-added” chain,
including activities in the forest and in primary and secondary
manufacturing. SFF’s current agenda includes facilitating:
- Forestland conservation through innovative financing
- Establishment of community forests and
- Innovation in logging practices and wood product manufacturing.
SFF strives to create synergy among its various initiatives.
Over time, SFF will help build and disseminate intellectual capital
about what works in the marketplace, and help create demonstrable
models of innovation and success that can be replicated.
The Sustainable Forest Futures Program was launched as an active
program of the Northern Forest Center in 2004. Please check this
website periodically for news about SFF’s program expansion.
