Ways of the Woods
Ways of the Woods: People and the Land
in the Northern Forest is the Center’s mobile museum about
the changing relationships among people and the land. The exhibition
combines multi-media displays with outdoor kiosks, artifacts
and children’s activities to help people explore the ever-changing
relationships between people and land across the Northern Forest.
When Ways of the Woods wrapped up its 2009 tour,
almost 6,000 school children and more than 130,500 people
in 85 communities had toured the exhibition since its launch
in summer 2006. That’s the equivalent of 1 out of every 15
residents!
Housed in a 53-foot tractor-trailer that is decorated
with images of the Northern Forest, the exhibit visits communities,
schools, fairs, festivals and local events across the Northern
Forest and beyond.
Planning is underway for the 2010 season
