In addition to advocating for federal policies that benefit the Northern Forest’s rural communities, the Center develops and supports strong collaboration that works within and across geographic boundaries and diverse interests.
The Center partnered with the Neil & Louise Tillotson Fund of the NH Charitable Foundation to host the Northern Forest Regional Symposium on November 4-6, 2015. The event brought together community, public, private, and non-profit leaders from across the Northern Forest to reflect on the state of the region, celebrate and share successes, address shared challenges, and help shape regional investment strategies. The Symposium builds upon the two successful Summits for the Northern Forest led by the Center and regional partners and the Coos Symposium (NH), presented by the Tillotson Fund.
The Center is involved in and provides leadership to collaborative efforts across the region, including:
- Keeping Maine’s Forests
- Maine Woods Discovery
- Maine Woods Consortium
- New York Bioenergy Association
- State Wood Energy Teams (NH, NY)
Through participation in many other networks, the Center helps build regional knowledge and creates links among these efforts:
