Governance & Financials

A talented and dedicated Board of Directors provides governance for the Center. Board members come from Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and New York, with a few from other New England states. Their expertise ranges from organizational management to forestry to community development to fundraising and more. The Center is proud to be a “Nonprofit Organization in Good Standing” registered with the New Hampshire Attorney General’s office.

The Board oversees the Center’s finances, including an annual audit by an independent firm. Financial support for the Center’s mission and programs comes from individuals, foundations, corporations, public funding and program income.

Northern Forest Center Assets

The Center’s assets have grown more than tenfold since 2017 when we created our first impact fund to raise capital for property development. The Northern Forest Fund, an integrated capital vehicle that supports redevelopment and other revitalization work, is the primary driver of the Center’s asset growth.
