Managing for Resilience

The 30-million-acre Northern Forest is the largest contiguous temperate forest in the world.  It provides a wide range of benefits including critical wildlife habitat, dark skies, water resources, wood products, and much more.

With these benefits comes the responsibility to practice and promote balanced forest management that ensures long-term forest health and resiliency.

We believe the Northern Forest can be a model of resilience, putting forest stewardship to work to improve forest health while supporting the forest economy and contributing to climate solutions.

Deepening Forest Stewardship

Conveying Complexity

Contributing to Climate Solutions

Our programs advance the use of climate-friendly forest products, conserve forests, and encourage landowners to maintain forests rather than develop them – all of which improves climate outcomes.
