Lancaster, New Hampshire

Home to 3,500 people, Lancaster NH is a community that deeply values small-town quality of life.

Lancaster’s picture-perfect New England downtown is surrounded by the beauty of Northern New Hampshire’s farms, forests, rivers, and mountains. These qualities — together with strong local schools, a top-flight hospital, multiple recreation facilities and opportunities, affordable real estate, and safe neighborhoods — make Lancaster an exceptional place to live for people seeking the benefits of rural life.

Entrepreneurship thrives in Lancaster. Cabinetry production and wood-milling link the town to its traditional forest economy, while great new coffee shops, restaurants, and a brewery have put new energy into Main Street. A marketplace sells food and other goods from more than 80 local farmers and artisans, and a historic theater shows first-run movies. With supportive local leadership and enthusiastic local customers, small businesses are reenergizing Lancaster and making it a more vibrant, prosperous place to live.

The Center began partnering with Lancaster in 2017 because we sensed the town’s readiness for growth – and because local leaders trusted the Center to deliver on our commitment to long-term investment in community revitalization. Our purchase of the iconic Parker J. Noyes property solidified our ties to Lancaster, and we’re thrilled to be part of this wonderful community.
