Working on Three Levels

Our programs deliver results on three levels:

  • 30,000 Feet: We provide leadership and regional strategy for the 4-state Northern Forest, sharing knowledge and opportunities gleaned through engagement across multiple programs in 4 states.
  • 10,000 Feet: We coordinate programs and partners to increase resources and deliver maximum impact, supporting networks and engaging in a wide-range of state and regional forums to build the region’s capacity.
  • On the Ground: We work locally to help forest-based businesses and communities create jobs and retain wealth from their forest resources and conserve them for the future.

Partnerships & Collaborations

The Center implements programs and advances policies that connect economy, community and environment to accelerate inclusive prosperity. We create many of these programs in partnership with other organizations and coalitions, and they have an identity apart from that of the Center. Get to know the family of programs and networks that are key to achieving our mission.

Automated Wood Heat

The Center created the Automated Wood Heat marketing campaign with agency, nonprofit and business partners to increase demand for locally sourced wood pellets as a substitute for fossil fuels. Switching to Automated Wood Heat benefits the region’s economy and reduces our greenhouse gas impact.
