Enhancing the getNEKedVT campaign with highlighted destination areas in the Kingdom.

This summer, communities in the Northeast Kingdom – locally known as the NEK – are encouraging visitors to getNEKed and experience the raw, authentic nature of the region and its attractions.

The enhanced marketing initiative is part of the #getNEKedVT campaign, which the Center has facilitated since 2018, working with a regional group of Chambers of Commerce and non-profits focused on tourism in the Kingdom. This initiative also intersects with the Center’s Rural Tourism Academy work, and allows partners to use the overarching, regional marketing resource to elevate the attractions in their communities.

Three new destination areas highlight the unique aspects and attractions of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom.

The Northeast Kingdom represents more than 2,000 square miles of Vermont and is home to some of the state’s most scenic and undisturbed locations. Bordered by Canada and northern New Hampshire, the Kingdom is a hub for outdoor recreation, arts and culture, and delicious local food options.

People interested in adventuring in Vermont now have three destination areas within the Kingdom to choose from: Eastern Trek, Farm & Field, and Mountain & Lake Getaway. The getNEKedVT campaign’s newest phase introduced the different destination areas to help visitors plan their trip or a multi-day excursion across its entirety.
