Kristen leads a dynamic team to engage more people in the Center’s mission and to secure the resources needed to achieve bold results. A field naturalist and educator by training, her unconventional journey into fundraising began during a walk in the woods while working on Audubon Vermont’s Forest Bird Initiative. Over a decade later, Kristen remains an ecologist at heart, finding joy in collaborating with people who share her dedication to healthy forests and communities.

Kristen brings experience in conservation and leadership from her roles at Stowe Land Trust, a non-profit serving the Stowe, Vermont region. As executive director, she led the land trust in securing $13 million through strategic partnerships for the protection of 3,100 vital acres of farm, forest, and recreation lands, while doubling its annual fundraising revenue and stewardship endowment within five years. Kristen also advocated for innovative collaborations between housing and conservation groups.

Having lived and worked in small Vermont towns for more than 20 years, Kristen has developed a deep appreciation for the rural character and recreation opportunities of the region, as well as the wellbeing of its people. She is a graduate of the Vermont Leadership Institute at the Snelling Center for Government and holds a masters in Botany from the University of Vermont’s Field Naturalist Program. Kristen lives in the mountains of Vermont’s Lamoille County with her husband and daughter, where she serves as a Trustee of Copley Hospital. She enjoys hiking, skiing, gardening and generally spending time outdoors with friends and family.
