Downtown Studio Space for Artists in Millinocket, Maine
Come Experience Maine’s Iconic Katahdin Region
The Northern Forest Center, a regional organization rooted in community, forest-stewardship and economy, has a newly renovated building on Penobscot Avenue in the heart of Millinocket. This studio space is conducive to many mediums and is a perfect setting for community arts activities. It is available for lease to visual artists, musicians and writers by application for a period of 3-12 months.
The Center is a non-profit organization formed to create bold possibilities that give rise to vibrant communities across northern Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and New York. Since 2018, the Center has been investing in property redevelopment to contribute to downtown revitalization and the attraction and retention of area workers and families.
Studio Space & Apartment
The newly renovated commercial space features brand new, Maine birch wood flooring, large storefront windows, and an additional entrance on the side of the building. The large open space is a blank canvas for your creativity, with roughly 1,500 square feet, a utility closet, and a bathroom. The studio space has a new construction feel with historical character and a great downtown location.
Originally built in 1900, the Northern Forest Center redeveloped the building to create five new apartments and two commercial spaces. The neighboring unit is occupied by Baby Ruthies Takeout & Snack Bar.
Interested artists would also be able to rent a one-bedroom apartment in the building for their studio lease period. The apartment is newly renovated with all new finishes and modern appliances.
