Kendra Collins

Director of Forest Programs

Kendra joined the Center in January 2025 to further develop and implement our forest programming. She works closely with a dynamic staff team, as well as external partners, on direct delivery of programs and demonstration projects to grow forest-based businesses and deepen forest stewardship in the region.

In addition, she works with the forest program team on messaging and communications, as well as policy and advocacy on local, state and federal levels.  She is excited to do meaningful work to support the ecological and economic future of the Northern Forest region.

Prior to joining the Center, Kendra spent almost 17 years in various roles with The American Chestnut Foundation (TACF), a non-profit working on single species restoration and using a broad citizen-science and partner-based model. During her time with TACF she coordinated annual science programming across all of New England and worked with state chapter volunteers and partners to find alignment in supporting the organization’s scientific goals and mission.

Most recently she served as the Director of Regional Programs, supporting a staff team spread across the Eeast Coast, and serving 16 volunteer state chapters spanning 20 states. She brings years of experience building relationships, honoring partnerships, and implementing complex projects at a variety of scales.

Kendra lives in the Green Mountains of Vermont with her husband and two young daughters. She enjoys spending time with her family, getting outside year-round, and taking on a never-ending list of gardening projects that support biodiversity, her kitchen table, or both!
