The Carbon Accounting of Modern Wood Heat
The Center tackles complexities in recent modern wood heat webinar.
In our Jan. 17 webinar on The Carbon Accounting of Modern Wood Heat – part of our Building the New Forest Future series – Center Vice President Joe Short and Alliance for Green Heat Founder and President John Ackerly facilitated a discussion on carbon emissions and modern wood heat.
The panel began with an illustration of the forest carbon cycle and highlighted how the land use history of the Northeast has affected our forests today and how forest management is needed in developing resilient forests into the future. In the context of forest carbon and management, the conversation then explored how modern wood heat stacks up against fossil fuel (and electric) sources from a carbon emissions perspective.
We recorded the conversation for you to revisit or share with others.
